Privacy Policy

Synth Studios (ABN 95 205 207 142) is a sole trader business based in Clyde North, Victoria. We build websites and the setup around them for startups: domain, email, hosting, messaging, customer records and advertising.

This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It applies to this website and to enquiries you send us through it.

If you send an enquiry, we collect the details you type into the form:

• the package you are interested in
• your name, email address, mobile number and business name
• what the business does, the stage it is at, and the services you need
• your current website and any other note, if you choose to add them
• your confirmation that you agree to these terms and this policy

We also store the page you submitted from, the browser user agent, the time of the enquiry, and a one-way hash of the IP address. We do not store the raw IP address in the enquiry record. We do not ask for payment card numbers on this form.

If you later become a client, we also keep the messages, files and invoices needed to do the work. If you pay a deposit, the balance or the care plan, Stripe collects the card details. We do not ask for the card number on this site, and we do not store it.

We use enquiry details to:

• reply to you and suggest a package
• prepare and deliver the work, if we go ahead
• send invoices for the setup and the monthly care fee
• keep ordinary business records
• protect the form from spam and repeated submissions
• measure, where you allow it, that an enquiry was sent

We do not sell personal information. We do not use your enquiry to build an advertising audience of people like you.

A banner on this site asks you to accept or decline cookies for analytics and ads. Until you choose, Google Consent Mode v2 is set to denied for ad storage, ad user data, ad personalisation and analytics storage.

If the relevant ID is configured for this site, we use:

• Google Analytics 4, to understand which pages are used
• Google Ads, to measure visits and enquiries that come from ads
• the Meta Pixel, which loads only after you accept, to measure page views and leads
• the Meta Conversions API, which receives a lead from our server when an enquiry is stored, including a hashed email, a hashed phone number, and the IP address of that submission, matched to the same event id as the browser event

If you accept, those tools may set cookies such as Google's analytics and ads cookies and Meta's _fbp cookie (and _fbc if you arrived from a Meta ad). If you decline, the Meta Pixel does not load and the Google tags stay in a denied state. Google may still receive a cookieless ping so aggregated measurement can work without advertising cookies.

The Conversions API call is part of recording the enquiry, not part of the cookie banner. It runs when an enquiry is stored and the server token is configured. It does not run when the token is missing.

To change your mind, clear this site's stored data in your browser and reload. The banner will show again. You can also email us and we will stop using the contact details from your enquiry for anything other than the request you made, unless we need to keep a record.

We share personal information with service providers who help us run the studio:

• Supabase stores the enquiry record. The database is in the Sydney region (ap-southeast-2).
• Resend sends us the enquiry by email at info@synthstudios.com.au.
• Vercel hosts this website and may keep short-lived request logs, which can include an IP address.
• Google receives analytics and ads events, as described above.
• Meta receives Pixel events if you accept, and Conversions API lead data when that integration is switched on.
• Stripe processes the deposit, the balance and the monthly care plan, including SMS above the monthly allowance. Stripe handles the card. We do not store your card number.

Some of those providers process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Supabase storage for enquiries is in Sydney. Where information goes overseas, we take reasonable steps so that it is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to a professional adviser who is bound to keep it confidential.

Enquiry rows are written by our server. The key used for that insert can only add a row, and only when you have agreed to this policy. Row level security is enabled. That key cannot read, change or delete enquiries, so the website cannot list them. The site is served over HTTPS.

We keep an enquiry for as long as we need it to reply and, if you become a client, for our business records. You can ask us to delete information we no longer need for a legal, accounting or operational reason. Access to the database is limited to the operator of Synth Studios.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong, out of date or misleading. Email info@synthstudios.com.au. We will aim to respond within 30 days. If we cannot give you access, or we refuse a correction, we will tell you why and how to complain.

We will not charge you for a straightforward request. If a request is large or repeated, we will tell you about any fee before we do the work.

If you think we have handled your information wrongly, email info@synthstudios.com.au and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
